This year on World Food Day, Mercy Corps will officially open the new Action Center to End World Hunger and kick-off “Hunger Action Week.” This week of seven events will raise awareness about global hunger and the steps we can all take to make a difference. The Action Center is a first-of-its-kind interactive public space that educates and empowers visitors to tackle the global challenges posed by hunger and poverty.

New Orleans, Louisiana —The Action Center To End World Hunger will receive a Platinum Rating from the U.S. Green Building Council, in part, for its use of sustainable goods and materials as part of its construction. Roger Burks, Mercy Corps' Senior Web Writer, recently visited a deconstruction site in New Orleans, where recycled materials are being prepared for use in the Action Center.
